Dancing with the Stars pro Witney Carson welcomed her first child, son Kevin, in January, and has been working hard to feel confident and healthy in the months since giving birth. While Carson has been documenting her postpartum journey on social media for fans since her son arrived, she’s recently decided to kickstart her healthy living efforts with a monthlong challenge to help whip her into shape.
“I am starting a 30-day challenge today and I’m so excited! I want you guys to do it with me because we all need to hold each other accountable and I’m not sure if I can do it, but I really, really want to,” she told her fans in an April 15 post to her Instagram Stories.

She’s cutting out sweets.
The number one priority on Carson’s list? Curbing her sweet tooth.
“I am cutting out sugar,” she told fans. However, you won’t find Carson ditching all the carbs in her diet anytime soon. “I’ve done keto before, and I felt really gross,” the star revealed to Women’s Health in 2018. “I did lose weight on it, but my skin broke out. I have eczema and my eczema was super, super bad.”

She’s exercising twice a day.
Carson may be used to getting in ample exercise on the DWTS set, but her new workout plan is surprisingly moderate.
So, what’s on her schedule in the next month? Carson says she’s planning to “work out twice a day for at least 30 [minutes],” noting that she hopes to make one of those workouts an outdoor one.
For followers worried about keeping up, Carson says not to worry about ensuring these are high-intensity sweat sessions. “These do not have to be so hard—just even a walk or something simple. Get your body moving.”
She’s ditching all cheat days.
For those who aren’t keen on following Carson’s no-sugar lead, the DWTS pro says that simply ditching any vice will do.
“Cut SOMETHING out of your diet for the whole 30 days,” Carson recommends. “NO cheat days!!”

She’s ramping up her water intake.
To aid her progress, Carson is making hydration a top priority. Her personal goal? Drinking four liters of water—or a little over a gallon—every day.
While she may be ditching sugar, Carson admitted that she’s not giving up all of her favorite sweet drinks. Instead, she’s relying on Zevia stevia-sweetened sodas to help her push through those cravings. “This is a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth!” she told her followers.
